In brief, Loggo is the world’s newest, greenest, flooring and portal frame building system which is ideal for housing, government buildings, commercial and on through to mid - rise, multi-residential apartment blocks (see NEWS and PRODUCTS).


Loggo’s three different revolutionary new engineered wood beams are made from low value by-products such as Peeler Cores from the ply industry, or just small diameter round wood. These cost-efficient beams give rise to a new methodology for the construction industry that promises to slash costs and be industry disrupting.


In effect we combine actual tree shapes with simple technology. The end result is a product with comparable structural properties to more high-tech conventional glue-laminated timbers with far lower environmental impact and technical costs.


The low recovery cost of low/no value by-products such as Peeler Cores, translates to significantly higher profits for vertically integrated manufacturers and affordability for consumers.


Our initial engineered wood beams have been exhaustively tested at the University of Technology, Sydney (UTS) and the University of Queensland (UQ) for strength and longevity. And their already established safety has recently been bolstered by adding mechanical fixity to the already existing laminate fixity (now glued and screwed - unlike other EWP's).

What is LOGGO

Initially Loggo was our process of taking small diameter true round plantation logs (pine generally but it can be any other suitable species) and laminating them along their longitudinal axis into either:


1. I-Logs® (I-beams) and ......

2. B-I-Logs (innovative new I-Log with two flanges top and bottom) and ......

3. Lamilog Beams® (laminated beams) which can also be designed as bearers.


However from 2015, realising the obvious cost-benefits of already true rounded PC's and their obvious commercial worldwide PLYWOOD LENGTH LIMITATIONS of 2400mm ( 8 ft. in the U.S.), we set about developing  unique methods of lengthening these problematic, structurally weak, by-products.


And consequently these beams performed remarkably well for strength and longevity (100,000 cycles each) during our 2019 tests at University of Queensland testing facility.


Recently we have added screws from both sides and along the I-Log and B-I-Log beam designs. This extra mechanical fixity will ensure even more long term safety well into the future.


And for our Lamilogs the  joining galvanised steel dowels are internally set, corrosion resistant and epoxy embedded using a uniquely and purposefully designed glue injection system. This internal 'encapsulation' provides a joint of remarkably enhanced longevity; a joint that is unique and challenging for other timber systems to reproduce, such endeavours often resulting in clumsy, non fire rated connections.


The Loggo systems can be used cost-effectively to build all types of modern houses, small commercial and government buildings and more recently tested to build mid to high rise apartment blocks.
